SPS 2003 Document library migration to MOSS 2007

I guess someone have worked on this previously, but for me its for the first time i'm trying to achieve this.

I have an extranet site which is on different domain developed in SharePOint 2003 and i need to migrate this to Share Point 2007 of a another domain.(entirely different domain)
So its more of an reengineering the site.

All the users will be added to the new AD(Active Directory).

In my source site i have document libraries which i need to migrate to the MOSS 2007 but the problem is we should'nt loose the metadata,Versioning history of the former site's document library.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Note: Without using 3rd party tools.

try this:-

Back up the _site database from SQL server
attach this to MOSS 2007 DB server
from MOSS 2003 stsadm command rum preparetomove against this database
create new web application and site collection on MOSS 2007
dettach the database and attach the _site database to newly created web application.

Please test this before you do on actual live server.
