SPS 2003 - Document Deletion?

Asked By: Larissa    Date: Nov 18    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1778

In SPS 2003, if you delete a document, can you get it back?

I've got a use who deleted something, and, unlike 2007, I'm not seeing a
place for storage of deleted items...

Is she hosed?

Unlike 2007, there is no OOTB Recycle Bin in 2003. You'll need to restore the
entire portal/site to get back the document. You might also consider James
Edelen's SharePoint Database Explorer and SP Export tools, which allow you to
selectively restore what you need to - binaries and source located here:-

You will have to pull it from your latest back up.

To keep this from happening in the future there are 3rd party controls
that can be added to SharePoint 2003 to simulate a Recycle Bin.
