SPS 2003: Color Scheme

Asked By: Seth    Date: Sep 15    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1523

Has anybody tried changing the color scheme for the new version of
SharePoint from the default blue to another color?

I just want to get a feel of how much work it will take especially the
number of files that needs modifying.

Definitely not as easy as sps  2001. You need to modify sps.css and ows.css
located in the /_layouts/styles. I will recommend making a copy of the original
file and change the configuration of the portal to use the new stylesheet.

Note that the 3-d effect are done using gif file with gradiant so be prepared to
have to edit those as well.

Are you talking of changing themes or paying around with the css files?

The css files. I know you can change the theme at the various site
levels but I don't see that capability from the main portal level.

You need to be a co-ordinator on the workspace. Then you will get extra menu
options at the top right hand corner of the page.
