SPS 2003: Check-in vs new Custom Meta columns in library

Asked By: Amolika    Date: Jan 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1271

The environment
I have a SPS 2003 server with SQL 2000 Standard.

The configuration
A site has a Document library, in which I added 2 columns: "Version" and
"Status" for each documents in that library. Keep History of each document
is enabled and works properly.

The problem
When I check-out a document who is Version at "1.0" and Status at "Open",
there is no problem. Before checking-in that document, I made an upload of
this same document name, specifying Version "2.0" ans Status "Closed". After
saving, right-click on the document and choose "Check-In". I choose the
first (or any, it doesn't matter) and click OK.

When I get back to the library folder, I see Version at "1.0" and Status
"Open" instead of the news values I have specified for my newest version of
the document. Can someone can say why and how to resolve this?
