SPS 2001 Backup Problem

Asked By: Rohit Chavan         Date: Sep 03, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 434

Our SPS 2001 (SP1) server runs a backup script (msdmback) daily via the
Scheduler. We setup the scipt to capture displays to a log file. Recently the
backup appears to stop after running for awhile. No error messages are displayed
in the log.

As a result no backup file gets created. We've moved the time when this runs to
try and avoid network traffice since the file is created on a network share.
Does anyone know if RAM would affect this running to completion?

Are you sure you're not running out of disk space????

I did have the network share server checked for disk space and this is not a
problem. I know the backup  uses a lot of memory so I thought the server may be
running out of RAM at the time.
