spin max upload size?

Asked By: Jackie Ayala         Date: Mar 28, 2005      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 214

I use spin to migrate documents from sps2001 to 2003 and on some of my sites spin says that xml file cannot b parsed and the error log shows:

Cannot locate portal site in topology manager's list.

Maximum Document Upload Size (in MB) = 50

Largest file being imported (in MB) = 470

Largest Document is bigger in size than max file upload size. Aborting.

An error occured when parsing the xml. Please check the logs.

Is there a way to change the upload limit?

In your SharePoint Central Admin Section what do you have the Max upload  size set to? If your uploading large document you may want to increase the size. The biggest file that I've uploaded so far was 200MB.

- You might run into virtual memory problems as well. If you do, then you need to up your Windows virtual memory limit on the server.

- If files are very large (like the 470MB file), delete it from the XML manifest file created by spout.exe and upload  it manually.

- Lastly, make sure you have WSS SP1 installed and check the readme file. WSS SP1 has specific additional support for uploading large files into WSS.
