How to specify a sharepoint site as intranet site

Asked By: Felicia Hunter         Date: May 15, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 352

We have a sharepoint site which is accessd only within the intranet.

But it uses the Internet settings which is specified in the security of the Internet explorer.

One way to do it would be to go and this site into the intranet zone.

But for this i will have to ask all th users to do it which would not be good.

Can i do this centrally some place Proxy server or something like that cause i dont know much about this network stuff.

are you sure you are setting up the Sharepoint on the Staff/ Internal
network ? If not change the IP on the server  to an ip that is on the
staff side or internal ip.

Look i do not asiign the ip of the system.
the infrastucture team does it and they have no idea how to make this in a intranet  site.
I dont know much about network  or proxy  server or any of that kind.
All i know is this cannot be accessed from out side the network.
So i am supoosed to tell them what to do.
Please let me know if you have any solution as to where do i do it.

You could add the URL for your sharepoint  virtual server  into a particular zone  through the use of a Group Policy Object.
