SPD WF "Date Only" in an Email

  Asked By: Jamison    Date: Apr 10    Category: MOSS    Views: 6374

The topic of my frustration for today: Date Only in an Email Workflow
using SharePoint Designer

Using SharePoint Designer for a basic task assignment/email workflow.
In the body of the email pulls in the field 'Start Date', but I want
this to be shown as Date Only. It is date only in the list and I full
understand how and why the time is attached.

Is it possible to seperate out the field to only show the date or can
you not show the time? I would even take, make the time white text!

If this is MOSS, it's a suboption on the column type itself to show
only date, only time, or both. This should also apply to 2003.

This is regards to creating the workflow  using SharePoint Designer...

I understand how to set the column type to display 'Date Only' but
when a user puts in 10/01/2007, a default time  of 12:00:00 AM is
automatically attached, thats fine and I understand why it is
required to be attached.

The problem is when that information is pulled into the email
through the workflow, all we want to display is 10/01/2007, but it
shows 10/01/2007 12:00:00 AM.
