Space Used by Site?

Asked By: Elton    Date: Jan 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1647

Does anyone know a way or a third party tool that will report how much
disk space is being used by a site. I know how to get it for the
entire site collection, what I'm looking for is how to get it for the
sub sites.

Here's a down and dirty way to get number of files and file sizes for a
subsite:

C:\>DIR \\<webapp>\<managed_path>\<site_collection>\<subsite>\*.*
<file:///\\%3cwebapp%3e\%3cmanaged_path%3e\%3csite_collection%3e\%3csubs
ite%3e\*.*> /s > C:\<subsite>.txt

I know this is not what you are looking for, but it will give you a good
indication if the subsite has a lot of large files which will translate
into a larger database size.

The formatting hosed my previous email. It should be:

C:\> DIR \ \webapp\managedpath\sitecollection\subsite\*.* /s >
C:\subsite.txt
