Anyone heard of this? If so, are you using it? Please comment.

Downloaded the trial version and was successful with the backup routine
but ran into a bug during the restore routine. Notified NSE about the
error message but have yet heard back from them. This would seem to be a
very useful tool since it allows us to have the capability to backup and
restore individual workspaces. I'm interested to see if after the
restore routine whether it will restore all customizations.

I use no third party software for backing up and
restoring SharePoint. I use the msdmback.vbs command
for the backup and restore and it works great. It has
saved my butt a few times. Every time i make
modifications to sps I make a backup. This commad is
located in Program files\Sharepoint Portal server\bin.
the syntax is c:\Program files\Sharepoint Portal
server\bin\msdmback /b c:\directory of your
choice\filename.bak. For the file name is usaully use
sps date . bak i.e, sps10-11-02.bak this tells me when
i last updated sps.

msdmback.vbs only allows you to backup the entire SharePoint Server (all
workspaces) but the SPManager tool allows you to backup specific
workspace. A rep from NSE got back with me on the bug that I found
during the restore and hopefully once he figures it out, I will let
everybody know how good this tool is.
