Sizing Question

Asked By: Wyatt    Date: Oct 17    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 806

How many WFE servers would you think you'd need to serve a daily
average of 1000 page views per hour with a peak of 4000 per hour?

That would work on a single WFE, wouldn't it?

This is a tough question. There are so many variables. How big is your
farm? I would say that it would all depend on what is your acceptable
performance for your environment. Here is a good link for planning
software boundaries.

This is an excellent article. There is also an excellent document
titled MOSS Performance Summary located here

Best case, what if I stipulated that the content was 100% static and
pages were all standard SharePoint default pages and list items?

24,000 hits a day, 4000 hits per hour peak. One WFE server?
