Having some technical abnormalities stemming from the deletion of one of
our AD accounts that was admin of many many sites. (SPS 2003 / WSS 2.0)
Here is something I cannot understand:
* I go to a wss site and go to site settings, manage users to
examine the user list. I see 4 users in the list with access to the
site. 1 admin and 3 contributors.
-VS-
* I go to the very SAME wss site and navi to
http://portal.company.com/sites/projectXYZ" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://portal.company.com/sites/projectXYZ /_layouts/1033/siteusrs.aspx
<http://portal.company.com/sites/projectXYZ" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://portal.company.com/sites/projectXYZ%20/_layouts/1033/siteusrs.as
px> and I notice a list with 8 users in the site.
Can you help me please understand the following:
- What is siteusrs.aspx? how is it used? What does it all mean?
- When adding new users to the site (via site settings, manage
users), does WSS FIRST check the siteusrs.aspx to resolve the user
account before checking AD? (Behaviour I am experiencing tends to
support this.)
- It appears that siteusrs.aspx displays history of every
single user that has ever accessed the site. Is this true?
