Site Templates .stp

I have a site template I have created using the save as site template
feature. I want to create a tab in the create new sharepoint site area
called my templates and add the template to that selection. Can anyone
tell me how to do this?

When you save  a site  as a site template, it will be added to the Site
Template gallery (which is just a specialized sharepoint  list). Any
templates in this gallery will automatically appear under the "Custom" tab
when you create  a new site.

In other words, the Custom tab  equates to your "My Templates" tab. I
don't know how to create an aditional tab for "My Templates" - I would
simply recommend using the existing MOSS functioality for site templates.

you can create  additional Tabs when you create a custom site  definition
(as opposed to a site template) in the 12 hive. But I know of no way to
move an existing site template  off the custom tab  and into a different
