Site Template Gallery

I want to save a site as an template using all its contents and want to add this template to another portal. I want to use the style and docs saved in this site as an template for another portal. How to ‘save as’ and upload the file on the root of another portal.

The SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Administrators Guide has a complete section about site  templates. You can find the most recent version here:

www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

Your other option is to use FrontPage or stsadmin.exe to backup and restore the site.
