Site setup running MOSS2007

Have a Sharepoint site setup running MOSS2007, with a single front-end server
and a separate SQL server. Everything was fine until mid-morning when or IT
department changed the IP addresses on the servers.

Here's where it goes bewildering to me. I can tracert both servers and it
completes (does not time out). I can rdp to both servers. Databases show they
are online. However, when I go to the URL for our site , I get a can't reach
this webpage message from IE7 and an authentication 401.1 error from Firefox.
What makes it even stranger is that I have a sandbox site running on the same
front end server, I can reach it via Browser and SPDesigner.

The database was quiesced while the IP change was done. And supposedly the IT
department ran ipconfig/flushdns on both boxes when they were finished.

I am not in the IT department, but am the SharePoint administrator. I don't know
what else to look for or how to resolve this issue. Any advice is URGENTLY
needed. Site is dead in the water until we figure this out.

First thing I'd try is to make sure that the DNS settings for the site  are
correct with the new IP address. Do an NSLOOKUP to make sure. If it is,
then I'd check the IIS settings on the server  to make sure that the IP is
set correctly on the site. I'd proceed from there.

You might also reboot or at least iisreset the web box.

NSLookup showed the new IP addresses  were
showing the correct sites. We ended up rebooting both boxes just to be sure.

Then had to make some internal modifications. Still have some external DNS
issues to resolve. I'm wondering if they are related at all to the fact that
suddenly none of the managers can approve/reject Manager Review tasks assigned
to them. Have a User Tasks webpart on the page... they can see the tasks,
however, when they click on them... they either get "Access Denied" (even though
permissions for the tasks library are Add Edit Only for all users) or they get
the Manager Review Task without the option to approve or reject...

This is just freaky. And the irony is we just started using the Infopath forms 3
days ago. They were working fine  until today.
