Site Settings Page Error

I am sure some of you might have had this problem
earlier.
When I click on Site Settings from the Portal site, I
get the following error
Error

Session state can only be used when
enableSessionState is set to true, either in a
configuration file or in the Page directive

I have set enableSessionState to true from the page
directive. But it looks that I have lost the Site
settings page on the /_layout/1033/default.aspx , as
it contains some other customized page. How do I get
stie settings page back? Hope I am understandable.
