Site Quotas

Asked By: Antoinette    Date: Oct 10    Category: MOSS    Views: 1625

So if I understand quotas correctly in Moss 2007, you set the quotas
at a site collection level. Does anyone know of a way to set quotas at
a site level? Maybe a 3rd party product or something?

You're correct in saying quotas  are set at the Site Collection Level.

I'm unaware of a method/tool to enforce quotas on a (web) Site Level.
For more info on Quotas and Templates I'd recommend checking out:

article targetted at WSS 2.0, but still remains largely relevant for WSS 3.0)

You can set site  quotas but you have to use a template before you setup the
sites in your sharepoint admin under application management - quota templates..
under site management. I think this is what you are asking about..

That's the wise suggestion. Do have multiple site  quota templates like 1GB, 2GB,
5GB and so on.... In a huge org, when you get exceptions from business to
increase the quota, these template will be of immense help instead chaning it
