My Site Profiles

Asked By: Devika Goud         Date: Aug 03, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 192

I have a top level area named "People". This area has portal listings,
libraries, lists, etc. I have one perticular list named "Personnel".
I'm trying to figure out how to pull the "My Site" profile information
into the "Personnel" list.

ince joining this group, I know that replies and help are pretty swift, if there’s a viable solution. That being said, I guess what I’m looking for doesn’t have a known solution?

You might want to ask this question a different way. You are using
keywords like "My Site" that aren't clicking with my mental model of
them. For instance, profile  information isn't stored in anyone's
Personal My Site, it is only displayed there.

I go to our portal’s “People” area  | “Personnel” list  | choose a person (item) | which brings up the information on that person.

When that single item is viewed, at the bottom of the field list is MySite Profile: which as you described, displays the person’s MySite Profile information.

What we’re trying to do is eliminate our “Personnel” list & just use the MySite Profile information as a list (& populated by AD). Our reasoning is that here are two places to enter the same information and we want just one which is updated & correct by virtue of AD.
