Site Map Creation

Asked By: Tyrel    Date: Nov 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 628

We are using SharePoint 2003 and WSS V2.. that being said...

We want to build a sitemap for our intranet and are unsure how to go
about this? Is there a way in the SQL database tables to see this
information? Or is this something that would have to be done manually
by going through the portal and each and every site?

There are 3rd party web parts out there that do this - you might want to
consider this before you go the "build your own" route. If you do go
this route, you will need to use the Object Model (see the WSS/SPS SDKs
on MSDN) to access the site  structure. Direct SQL access of the
SharePoint databases is somewhere between highly discouraged and
potentially dangerous/unsupported depending on exactly what you are
trying to do.
