Site Map

Asked By: Krista    Date: Sep 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 746

Has anyone tried to implement a site map for the SharePoint Portal site. Many of my users are getting frustrated and have been begging for a site map. Has anyone programmatically created on or used a third party tool. I would especially be interested in a site map that is smart enough to include the inherent site permissions.

Does anyone know if you can create a "site" map  so to speak? When we implemented sharepoint  which replaced our existing intranet, people are very confused on where to find things. While we encourage the search function, people want to see a map?

As I recall, you are using SPS2003.

So, customize the site  Directory area.

You can also create another Site Directory area and customize it to present a different taxonomy (site map).

ASP.NET 2.0 has a Site Map server control. So, you could dynamically
generate a SiteMapDataSource that has the links you want to see in the
Site Map and use that as the DataSourceID.
