Site Link is Broken but all subsites are still functioning

Asked By: Marissa    Date: Jun 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1187

Somehow a site admin has broken the Site page, but all of the subsites
are still accessible.

http://server/sitecollection/site yields "Page cannot be displayed"
http://server/sitecollection/site/subsite1 "functions normally"
http://server/sitecollection/site/subsite2 "functions normally"

Site Collection doesn't list the site as one of its subsites.

The broken site is visible from the Site Hierchy view, but gives error
message "Cannot complete this action" when trying to manage the site.

Any suggestions on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure I understand. Did you define /site/ as a managed path? If
so, you would be unable to access /site/ as an actual site. This is

If the Top level site  of sitecollection has Publishing turned on then
you can move the sites using Manage Content and Structure on the Site
Actions menu. Just create a replacement for Site and move the subsites
under it.
