Site issue

Asked By: Aida    Date: Mar 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 625

We are running SharePoint v3 and we are having an issue this morning
with one of our sites on our intranet. We have lists within this
particular site and when some people click on a certain list, the page
just sits there with a message at the bottom of the screen "waiting to
load page", others can get in no problem. Any idea on what might cause
this and how to fix it?

I'm not familiar with this one, but I know what I'd ask first.

Any permissions changed recently? Changes to AD, perhaps?

Do the SharePoint logs (in the 12 hive) indicate anything? What about the
Windows application log -- any notable errors there?

I do not find any error messages anywhere to indicate a problem  that is
what is weird about this. There have been no changes on AD either.

I did however find out that this is machine specific.. so I will pass
this over to our network people  for them to figure out..

Any chance that this is a Datasheet view and that the users don't have
Access installed?

Check to see if they are running  the new IE8 beta. I've seen issues like this
with IE8 on some websites that aren't SharePoint. I haven't used it much on
SharePoint yet.
