Site Error in STSADM -o enumsites

When I issue the stsadm -o enumsites -url http://... I get a number of
the following error.

I believe this is a broken site collection where stsadm thinks the
collection exists, but there is no association within the content
database. I had this same problem in my virtual development
environment and I seemed to solve the problem by detaching and
reattaching the content database. Is this the right way to try and
fix this type of error?

What's going on here?

try an 'stsadm.exe -o preparetomove' on the content  database. that *might* fix
it permanently. Otherwise, your solution might also work :-)

I've fixed this two ways. One is like you described, detaching the
content database, then reattaching. If you do any kind of SQL restores
of content  databases you MUST detach and reattach them in Central Admin.
The other way I've fixed it is by clearing out orphans with "stsadm -o
