Site collection storage management

Asked By: Ravi    Date: Oct 21    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1093

I'm looking at a large site which has quotas enabled. While reviewing the
storage management option within the Site Settings page, I'm seeing some
contradictory informaiton. The storage management page shows a library as
having over 12GB of content stored but if I go to the library in explorer view,
select all of the folders and get properties, it only comes back with 615MB.
Any idea why this may be occuring? Is there a way to get an accurate view of
the amount of data being held?

How much is in the recycle bin?

There was indeed a large  amount of documents in there for that
particular library. We'll clear out some of the content  to see if the numbers
get a bit closer.

Not a problem it is often overlooked. Even on F&P servers using disk quota's

Any idea  how long it takes for that the storage  management page  to relfect
changes? It is still showing the previous amount after the files have been
deleted.
