single sign-on error

Asked By: Jordon    Date: Feb 24    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 762

I'm trying to configure single sign-on, mainly for the Crystal
Integration kit for SPS2003. I've come up with 2 errors so far at
the Manage Servers page of Single Sign-On after trying to hit OK
(the page where you put the account info, SQL Server, database name,
timeout, etc...), the first one being "Login failed for
user '(null)'. Not associated with a trusted SQL Server
connection"...at least I'm pretty sure that was how it read.
This one I think I took care of, I found some help online saying to
remove TCP/IP protocols under Network Configuration in the SQL
Server properties. I might have to add it back eventually, but
we're still in the testing phase for now and will have to do a re-
install of SharePoint.

After I did that, a different error showed up in place of the
previous error, stating "SQL Server does not exist or access
denied." Anyone know of anything that could be causing this? The
MSSQLServer and SQLServerAgent services are both running, and I have
an instance of the SQL Server running.
