Sharing hardware

I'm currently validating the hardware we need for a new deployment of
our Microsoft systems. I'm currently thinking of putting the SharePoint
web front-end onto the same hardware as the Exchange CAS and HT roles.

I think that should work as you can tell SharePoint which IIS instances
to extend onto. Does anyone know for certain whether this configuration
will work or not?
