I have a document library in a site and i need to share it with
mutiple
sites and Areas. In a way i want the same content to be displayed on a
site or Area.

On general settings for the document libraray when i use
"Select a portal area for this documnet library" all it does is add a
listing (or link) to the area

Is it possible to have the same view of document library to appear
in an area where i can check in/out modify content at one place and
changes being replicated in all other places
