Sharepoint & WSS

Asked By: Ahmed    Date: Aug 16    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 545

Okay, we are trying to setup Sharepoint in a corporate environment and
everything seems to be going fine until you throw WSS sites into the
mix.

We want our departmental and office sites under the respective offices
and department areas and indicate that when we create the sites, but
the navigation is not there. WHen you are in the subsite and go 'up'
a level, you are back to the orignal SPS home page.

Are we going to have to have two departmental or office pages? or any
pages that we want to group WSS subsites under? One an Area and one a
wss site? How can I achieve the desired result

Main sps area--office area--WSS project site 1
--WSS project site 2
--department area--WSS project site 1
--WSS project site 2

Are you talk about when in a WSS site  and clicking the "Up to Portal" link it takes you back  to the home  area?
Because you can change this option? let me know if thats what you meant?

In the Top-level Site's top nav, click site  Settings, then click Go to
Site Administration (the forth link down), then click Configure
connection to portal site (the last link on the page). Change the
Connect to Portal Link to something like: http://[portal]/SiteDirectory
