SharePoint workspaces

Asked By: Ruben    Date: Nov 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 628

We're in the process of migrating from Sharepoint Portal Server 2001 to Sharepoint 2003. In Sharepoint 2001, I was able to create separate workspaces for different areas in the company to give them their own site with security. I'm not sure how to go about the same type of thing in Sharepoint 2003.

What I'd like to do is setup an "Intranet" Sharepoint Portal w/ WSS for our internal deparments and then setup an entirely different site for an Extranet for our external Agents. Note, the Agents will authenticate and come into our internal servers.

Can anyone give me some recommendations on the best route to take?

SharePoint 2003 doesn’t have the concept of workspaces  as SharePoint 2001 had.

You could segregate your content amongst different WSS Sites to enforce security.
