SharePoint V2 Install problem Event ID: 7023

I am trying to install a SharePoint Portal Server Beta 2 Technical Refresh on
Windows Server 2003 RTM (fresh install). The server is a member of a domain. It
has the latest Microsoft security patches as well as Symantec Corporate
AntiVirus Version 8. No other apps are installed.

The server goes through the install process and the wizard shows as:
Microsoft WIndows SharePoint Services - Installed
SharePoint Portal Server - Installed
Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine - Installed
At the bottom of the screen is this message:
Preparing Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 configuration. This
may take a few moments.
The screen stays stuck indefinitely. The "Back", "Next", and "Cancel" buttons
are greyed out.

The one thing I noticed from the System Log is this entry.
Event ID: 7023
Source: Service Control Manager
The Microsoft SharePoint PS Search service terminated with the following error:
The trust relationship between the Primary Domain and the Trusted Domain failed.

Any ideas? I keep on getting stuck in the same place. I have reinstalled,
repaired, and even fresh installed the OS and SharePoint 2003 but I keep on
getting the same error.

If you did not already solve this problem -
This usually occurs when Windows Server 2003 RTM is installed in a domain
other than the domain where the Active Directory domain controller lives (or
you installed Server 2003 as a workgroup server). Make sure the domain for
SPS is the same as you AD domain controller.

I found out what the problem is. I noticed that the Search service was starting
under the NT/Authority credentials instead of the System Account credentials.
Once I changed this to System Account everything seemed to be working ok.
