SharePoint Team Size

Just looking to get an idea of what most SP teams look like. I have worked on a
couple of teams. They have had 3-4 for the fornt end and 3-4 for the back end
support. In my current job I am the sole SP guy, and apparently I am responsible
for everything SharePoint for an organization! What do most people recommend for
SP team size and skill sets?

We have 5 devs, 1 front-end admin, and 2 back-end admins.

Only one server right now, several hundred people in the organization. There
will be possibly tens of thousands hitting the site in the future. Basically I
need to replicate a bunch of custom apps that were built in .NET on an
intranet-type site. For my situation there are people that take care of server
maintenance, but anything dealing with SP is on me. At times it just seems
overwhelming.
