SharePoint subsite quota

Asked By: Benjamin    Date: Jan 18    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 7097

Is there any way to set a storage limit on a subsite, rather than only on the
site collection level? (For example, I'd like each subsite to be allowed 100MB.
When subsite A hits 100MB, nothing more can be posted to it without freeing up
some space. However, subsite B, which is only using 50MB, can still be posted
to.)

I've read the MS documentation that says, "When you apply a quota template to a
site collection, the storage limit applies to the site collection as a whole. In
other words, the storage limit applies to the sum of the content sizes for the
top-level site and all subsites within the site collection."

Just wondering if there is a workaround or a way to accomplish a subsite storage
limit.

Quotas can only be set  at the site collection  level. There is no
workaround.

You can't put quotas on subsites, but you can monitor storage  within the
site collection  including subsites  by using Storage Space Allocation
page located at http://<site_collection>/_layouts/storman.aspx
<http://%3csite_collection%3e/_layouts/storman.aspx> . This is helpful
for finding those storage hogs.
