Sharepoint Starting up speed

Sharepoint Performance

Can anyone tell me if it is usual for Sharepoint V1 to load slowly (10 seconds or so,) as a home page. If I change the home page to anything else, it loads in a flash (2-3 secs). Does it depend on content, or is V1 just slow and I should get used to it. Thanks

The more web parts you have on the Home dashboard, the longer it takes to load. Frankly, load  times of 5-10 seconds for V1 are not unusual.
