SharePoint (SPS) Portal Screen Shots

Asked By: Edmond Kidd         Date: Nov 08, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 290

Does anyone have any customized Portal sites (not WSS) they can/want to
share a screen shot of?

The only thing I can find online is the Microsoft Knowledge Network
(www.microsoft.com/.../mswebtwp.msp
x), plus what I got from mine and a friend's work.

What type of customization are you looking for?

I'm looking for existing examples of how folks like us have already
customized the look and feel (menus, colors, styles, web part zones,
etc.) of the out-of the-box sps  install. Here are some I already
found/did ourselves:

I hope to use the ideas from others to guide me in planning our
customization look-and-feel.

Ok, we have a simple customization, using CSS and a few new images for branding at http://public-sp.missouri.edu

We have a screen  shot on our public web site -
http://www.abelsolutions.com/sharepoint/ - regarding a dynamic HTML menu
that displays all portal  areas that the logged in user has access to.

We've also embedded a contact search control on the left side-bar to
locate employee, vendor, and client contact information. You can
semi-see it in the screen shot on our web site. Although part of it is
obscured by the expanded menu in the shot.

I think that you will find  that most of the custom branded SharePoint
sites are not public. You may be interested to know that
http://www.Mindsharp.com is a SharePoint site. I didn't roll out the
full blown site definition (time constraints) but all the information is
stored in SharePoint lists accessed programmatically.

I talked about how to leverage SharePoint 2003 as a simple content
management system at the SharePoint Advisor Live conference last month.
I think I give that same talk at the conference in the fall.
