Which RSS webpart  you are using? If you are using then Smiling Goat and you
are getting following error

RSS does not appear to be a valid RSS feed. If the feed is valid, please
ensure your proxy server settings are correct if you use a proxy server.
Error returned from FeedReader: Request for the permission of type
System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed.:mscorlib

Then the problem lies in the method of installation. The web part either
needs to be installed in the GAC *or* installed in a full trust environment.

The actual error message above indicates that the trust level may be the
issue. Ensure the trust is full or install to the GAC.

To download the RSS feed reader from here
www.microsoft.com/.../detail.asp?a1=336

To install into GAC:
STSADM.EXE -o AddWPPack -filename C:\SmilingGoat.FeedReader.cab
-globalInstall

im using Bluedog limited's RSS feed which is a syndication generator and it
works absolutely fine. Here is the link,

We just use the standard xml web part and link it to a custom xsl file
to display like we want it to look.
