Anyone use SharePoint with any middleware or ETL
(Extracation, Translation tools) to help pull data out
of various files, exchange folders, excel
spreadsheets, databases, SAP and then display this in
chart form in SharePoint?
We can do this in a haphazard way but wonder what
other folks may be doing.
Our goal is to create a digital dashboard of sorts
with charts of corporate key indicators/metrics.
We could plug in Excel or some reporting tool like
ArcPlan or Brio or Business Objects...but still wonder
if there is an easier way to obatin the data from
disparate sources.
We found our sister company in Germany using a rare
solution that combined middleware, data extraction,
and reporting all together. Then it presented data via
a web interface. They do not use SharePoint.
Not sure many tools are so integrated to do this. We
would embrace the product if it were more widestream
and availabel throughout the US.
