Sharepoint Portal Server v2

  Asked By: Elvin Marks         Date: Apr 09, 2010      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 386

Are there major changes to the backup/restore procedure for SPS? The Microsoft
website only mentions "improved support for recovery scenarios". Does any have
more information about the new backup/restore procedures for v2?

I just checked SPS V2 beta and there is only database level backup
tool there. I do not see any new tool. please tell me where is the
original source for saying that!

The original source for saying that was a guy in Microsoft.

I posted a few notes a while back on my thoughts on SPSv2 based on a demo I
received from Microsoft. The guy who gave the demo said that document level
backup was a feature.

I thought I read the same, single document restore, but I can not find
where I read that. The admin help file states you can back up and
restore a server  farm, server or component. The SPS Data Backup and
restore does not backup IIS or the Web Servers which should be backed up
using your OS backup solution.
