Sharepoint Portal Server list search

Anyone know how to search within lists in SPS2003. These lists are stored
in areas.

I figured out the doc libraries, which is using content source and scopes,
but since it actually points to a real doc rather than an aspx file, it is
easy.

To search  the list  item, You need to change the search
configurations.
Go to
Site Settings <http://isspsupg:1234/_layouts/1033/Default.aspx> > Configure
Search and Indexing
<http://isspsupg:1234/_layouts/1033/SearchSettings.aspx>> Manage
Content Indexes <http://isspsupg:1234/_layouts/1033/ListIndexes.aspx> > Manage
Index
Properties<http://isspsupg:1234/_layouts/1033/CatPP1.aspx?Catalog=Portal_Content\
>>
Exclude and Include Content.

select crawl individual sharepoint  list items..
crawl again.now you will be able to search the list items.
