SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Restore Problem

Asked By: Brendan    Date: Feb 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 5747

I have tried to restore the SharePoint Portal Server from SERVER1 To
SERVER2. The SITEDBS are restored successfully but the INDEX portion
was not restored. As a result the "Search Application" was not
restored. I have crawled the portal and not portal contents of the
restored site but still files can not be searched in the Restored
site.

The SharePoint portal is running on SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack
4.

SharePoint Portal server  has this problem. To solve this you need run the SQL
Server, SQLServerAgent, Application pool, Default content access on a users
credentials which is a domain user in (domain scenario) and member of the web
server administrators group.

After that Go to the Central admin page and try to set up the serach
applivation. If this does not happen then use SP 2 of SPS this might solve your
problem. However SPS SP2 I dont think will solve the problem  completely. You
have to do the above part.
