Sharepoint Portal Search box

  Asked By: Jedidiah    Date: Mar 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 996

To change the display characteristics of the search box on SPS
following styles are provided.

.ms-searchbox {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
font-family: verdana;
font-size: 8pt;
}
.ms-searchform {
background-color: #FFDF8C;
font-family: verdana;
font-size: 8pt;
}
.ms-searchcorner {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
background-image: url("/_layouts/images/srchcrnr.gif");
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: left top;
}

The background color within which the search box sits is controlled
by the background-color property of ms-searchform style.

When i change the color evrything seems to work excepting a small
chip of light blue color on the left side of the the search lens icon

I cannot find anything that would either change this chips color or
make it dissappear.

Does anyone have any idea on changing the color or removing this
small vertical band.

Find these styles  and set the display  to none.

.ms-sblbcorner
{
background-color: #FFFFFF;
background-image: url(/_layouts/images/cornerbl.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: right top;
padding-left: 0px;
padding-right: 5px;
padding-bottom: 4px
}
.ms-sbtopcorner
{
background-color: #FFFFFF;
background-image: url(/_layouts/images/cornertop.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: left  top;
border-bottom-width: 0px;
}
