I've started seeing problems with our Search service on our Large Farm. The Search service is failing because the SharePoint Portal Administration service won't start.
Anyone see this and have any suggestions to fix. I've tried the standard stuff -- service account is good, manually starting the service, rebooting the search server and the index server, central admin/iis is up and running on all 5 servers and sps is serving out content.
I'll take any suggestions -- thx
