I am a newbie in SPS world, and I would like to ask som basic
questions.
I got a task, migrate a SPS Portal 2003 server with some sites to the
another new server.
I have read a lot of about smigrate.exe, stsadm.exe but I don't know
which to use.
If I know right, the stsadm can be used in this case, make a backup
of the site and restore it at the new server after a new site
creation.
I don't have any sitemap or site/subsite structure, etc. the old SPS
admin leaves the company and I got his role.
It is possible on some way to generate a sitemap of the portal?
After backup -> restore, the security permissions and owner, etc.
will transferred too?
Is possible to make a restore on the new server, when it's contains
SP2 and the old one doesn't?
