SharePoint with a Mac?

Asked By: Alexandria    Date: Dec 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1359

I have a client whose shop is about 85% Macs. I was considering trying a WSS document management solution there (they have Win2K3 servers on the back-end) but I wasn’t sure what kind of experience that would be on a Mac. Anybody tried it and want to share their thoughts?

we have several thousand macs. works fine for the most part, just an extra page to checkout and open. some list functions don't work, however. Just remember anything .dll based won't work

good luck. works as well as documentum or plumtree on a mac.

i second the motion. if you have non-domain macs  (or any OS for this matter),
you can always use firefox ntlm config
(www.cauldwell.net/.../FirefoxAndSharepoint.aspx). if you want
to see the feature restrictions its basically the windows explorer and the
office dataviews etc. etc. (yes anything that firefox does in PC you get with

if you have the macs logging into windows domains (or want to populate your
keychains) you can mount folders (webdav works good).
