I still don't see the "point" of SharePoint - sorry. If it actually integrated
with Outlook and Exchange, it would then become an actual usable tool,
delivering some business value.
As TeamFolders are FREE, and come complete with auto-loading templates, and come
with a self-contained workspace model, they add far more organizational value
directly out of the box.
I'm still curious to know whether or not anyone in the SIG has successfully
integrated them into SharePoint 2001. (I realize that Microsoft dropped
TeamFolders as they folded the best ideas that were generated through them into
SharePoint Portal Server 2003).
The "out-of-the-box" functionality delivered with 2001 - the ability to connect
to my own Outlook information is just weird - why wouldn't I use OWA if I wanted
to hit my Outlook folders through the Internet?
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, insights or experience, I'd love to hear
from them.
