SharePoint and InforPath 2007 - Where to start?

Asked By: Betsy Molina         Date: Dec 22, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 173

I'm new to this group, so forgive me if this has been asked before:

About two hours ago, I was given responsibility to develop a pilot
project for electronic forms, using SharePoint and InfoPath 2007.
We've never used either product at my job (higher education)

I just ordered a selection of books, but where else can I jump in and
begin learning more about SharePoint and IP? The Microsoft website
often appears to be advertisements for these products, and we already
own both of them.

Right now, I am only researching this project. Soon, I'll have to spec
out a small server and install the software. Again, any hints or
advice is most welcome!

Well, you've come to the right place for sharepoint  information. There
are several MVPs, book authors, and just all around gurus that monitor
this forum. As far as other resources, blogs are probably the most
beneficial. Here's a few of my favorites:

http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint (SharePoint Team blog)

http://www.mindsharpblogs.com (The guys who graciously sponsor this
discussion group)

http://www.andrewconnell.com/blog

There are a bunch more, just Google "sharepoint blogs" and you'll
probably find more than you care to read J.

Also, InfopathDev.com is an excellent InfoPath resource, definitely
check it out for InfoPath specific questions.
