Sharepoint groups

Asked By: Antione    Date: May 31    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 827

I have created sharepoint groups and permission levels at the root site.
But when I go to grant the group permission to a site under a managed
path they do not show up and the custom permissions I created do not
show up. Do I have to recreate the custom permissions on every site
and re-create the same sharepont group on every site? I was under the
impression I can use the same sharepoint group for different sites.

Managed Paths are where you put the roots of site  Collections. Each
Site Collection is a security boundary and has its own set of groups  and
permissions. You don't need to recreate  groups in every site, but you
will need to create the groups in the top level site or each Site
Collection where you want to use the groups. The groups can then be
used in every site within that site collection.

Does anyone know of the limitations for size of content and numbers of
concurrent users for public websites that are hosted on WSS 3.0?

There is no hard maximum concurrent users or max content size assuming
you architect correctly, it's just a matter of upscaling your hardware -

Can you send me the link again please for concurrent connections to WSS
as I am getting 'not found' when I try?

likely the URL is getting word-wrapped by your email client.
