Sharepoint editorial & management issues

Asked By: Kody    Date: Sep 13    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1510

For a future roundtable and/or article in the Montague Institute Review
(http://www.montague.com/review/review.html), we are compiling a list of
Sharepoint editorial and management issues of interest to our members.

Here's what we have so far:

-- What to do (and not to do) about site customization, managing the
site life cycle (creation, deletion, etc), and integration with work flow or
business processes.

-- How do third party search engines work (or don't work) with Sharepoint?

-- How does Sharepoint integrate with SQL Server databases, Lotus Notes, topic
maps, metadata, and various applications (e.g. sales force automation, document
management, ERP systems like SAP)?

-- How do you interface a corporate taxonomy with Sharepoint Portal Server?

-- How do you strike the right balance between centralization and
decentralization (i.e. enterprise portal vs. team sites)?

Please contact us with additional issues or topics. The more detailed and
specific you can be, the better. If you'd like to discuss your question phone,
please give us some dates/times to call you.

If you are an experienced Sharepoint user (i.e. you've been using Sharepoint at
least a year in production mode) and would like to attend the roundtable, please
let us know.
