SharePoint Designer -WorkFlow Doubts

Asked By: Madhu    Date: Dec 13    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1297

I have created a Infopath workflow using sharepoint designer. This is what it

1. Takes the Input of application name, owner,Level 1 Approver ,Level Two
Approver from the Requestor of the change request.
2.It sends a mail for the Level One approver.
3.It sends a mail for the Level Two approver once the Level One Approves it.

1.The Url path which is embeed in the email does not appear as an hyper link.
2.This is a web form and once they approve and close the Form it does not take
them back to the web site.
3.Any contibutor to the list can edit the form. Can i enforce that only the level
one approver should approve this at Level On etc.
4.Generate Change Request Nos For example Todays Date + a running number
5.Also the email of the workflow goes from the moss adminstrator email id but
for this workflow they want the mail sent from a differenet email id.

I understand this is a lot of doubts.Would appreciate if someone gave me a
patient hearing and helped me out on this.

I have recently come across most of these problems...

1. Use a real href. <a href="url">name</a>. Watch out for SPAM
filters. When I first added a link  to one of my emails our spam filter
caught it. We had to reconfigure our farm to send authenticated email.
2. Whether you can solve this depends on how users are accessing the
form to begin with. If they are using the url  you are embedding in the
email tack a Source="urlToSite" query string parameter to the url. If
they are accessing it from a Task List notification email  you are stuck.
3. This is how SharePoint works out of the box, without custom code
you are stuck.
4. Hmmm, not sure on this one.
5. Another limitation of SharePoint. All email from SharePoint is
sent from that address, no exceptions that I can think of.
I hope this helps.
have you tried using the out of the box Approval workflow?
