SharePoint Designer-Workflow

Asked By: Lacy    Date: Apr 01    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1357

This question arises out of an issue I encountered when running a custom
workflow. The workflow runs nearly perfect:
• The first email goes out when it is supposed to
• The email contains a link to the correct document stored in a doc library
on the SharePoint site
• The recipient can open the document

Here is the glitch:
First: The intended recipients of these emails are all running Office 2003.
These users are expected to open the document via the link in the email
generated by the workflow, then edit that document, and save it back to the
SharePoint library where it 'resides." Instead, after the user edits the
document, the Save option is grayed out: He or She can only select "Save

I tested this process with one of the other site managers of the site and
even though she has full control (she is running Office 2003 BTW) permissions
the file is not automatically saving the revised doc back to the SharePoint
document library.

While I don't have one to test, there are a number of integration elements
that Office 2003 simply does not support. this could very well be one of
them. Can you test this with someone who has Office 2007?
