I'm using a dataview on our production SharePoint farm to display list
data. My datasource is a web service.

If I export the data view web part and import it onto a page on our
Staging SharePoint farm, the web part breaks.

I also tried to configure an XML web service datasource in our
development environment that points to our production farm. I can
configure the datasource okay, but when I try to do a "Show Data" I get
the generic "The server returned a non-specific error".

Is there an issue with consuming web services between farms? I though
that was the whole point of using web services . . .
